SureStep Dynamic Stabilizing System

  • Sure Step dynamic stabilizing system for controlling foot and ankle pronation in children with low tone-customized at Sunshine Prosthetics and Orthotics in Wayne NJ
    Sure Step SMO Side View

SureStep Dynamic Stabilizing System provided stability to children who pronate when standing and walking. This patented, dynamic system allows children to gain stability, while still allowing normal movement and function. Children with low muscle tone who have trouble with stability due to pronation can now walk, run and jump without the delays and instabilities that often result. SureStep is not a different brace, but rather a completely unique system that manages the foot and ankle without over-managing.  For the older or heavier child (over 80 lbs), the SureStep Big Shot provides all the same capabilities plus a soft silicone-like inner boot to ensure comfort.  Download the SureStep brochure.

Cascade DAFO

  • DAFO TwoStep with flexible posterior upright - Sunshine Prosthetics and Orthotics of Wayne NJ
DAFO TwoStep with flexible posterior upright
Cascade DAFO braces, Dynamic Ankle Foot Orthosis, are thin, flexible, contoured braces wrapping around the entire foot.  They are designed to allow movement where the patient has functional control and, at the same time provide support where the patient has weakness or dysfunction. Most DAFO patients lack some degree of voluntary control of the foot and/or ankle. Simply put, a DAFO brace (sometimes called an orthosis or splint) provides support to help a patient maintain a foot/ankle position, encourage mobility, and ultimately, improve stability and success. There are many types to select from, depending on your child’s needs and functions.  Sunshine Prosthetics and Orthotics will customize the DAFO for maximized functionality.
